Madonna On The Rocks
Madonna on the Rocks is a neon-lit exorcism in a jazz bar, with songs inspired by Madonna, Peaches and Nina Simone. It’s about our egos, our responsibilities and our dreams. And the struggle to be an artist, or to have any sort of career at all really, and be a parent at the same time.
This is a work in progress production, written and performed by Marie Hamilton with Fringe First winning director Hildegard Ryan, and Berlin-based, Cameron Mackintosh Award winning composer Ben Osborn.
Somewhere between a musical, a cabaret, a comedy and a tragedy, it will make you question your prejudices, remember to call your mum, and fight for a fairer future for us all.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Marie Hamilton

At 18 she went to Paris to train with Philippe Gaulier, then she went to Bristol and made a lot of fringe theatre, then she did an MA in acting at ArtsEd. She now lives in London, working mainly in Theatre, Film and TV, and sometimes Performance and Video Art.
She has toured internationally, and worked at the Almeida, the Soho Theatre, the Gate and the Arcola, the Bristol Old Vic, the Tobacco Factory, and the Wardrobe in Bristol, at the Pleasance, Edinburgh, and the North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford.
She has worked with Sally Cookson, Talawa, ATC, and Travelling Light and is Co-Artistic Director of District Theatre with Christian Loveless. Her work has been shortlisted for the LET and Untapped awards and is supported by Bristol Old Vic Ferment and Arts Council England.
