JOE
It's winter, 1972.
Joe is 29. His childhood stutter is behind him. He's outgrown his father's domineering shadow. He's got the house he always wanted and he's married the prettiest girl in all of Delaware. Oh, and he's just been elected as one of the youngest Senators in the history of the United States.
So, he's cocky. Ruthlessly ambitious.
Then, just like that, Joe's life is struck by a profound tragedy. His world changes forever.
As he grapples with the events of that winter and the deep depression that follows, little does he know his decisions are altering the course of American history.
This script-in-hand, rehearsed reading tells Joe's story.
