In an alternate universe, I don't want to live in the UK
Catherine, who is from Hong Kong originally and now residing in the UK, is currently suffering from homesickness. Looking back in time, she wonders if she has made all the right choices in the pursuit of human rights and freedom. She invites the audience to revisit the choices and take a glimpse at her alternate universes together.
She believes if she learns about them, she could stop regretting and stop being miserable about settling in the UK...

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Catherine Li
Catherine Li is a Hongkongese artivist, musician and model, whose creative work focuses on freedom and human rights. She trained at Rose Bruford College (MA Actor Musicianship) in 2023 and at King’s College London (MA in Theatre & Performance Studies) in 2020, and BA (English) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018. Her song cover of “Glory to Hong Kong”, a protest anthem of the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement, has received 1M views on YouTube and is on the Hong Kong government’s banned list of songs. Since 2019, she has been regularly creating performances to raise awareness for Hong Kong and campaigning to advocate for the rights of the UK-Hong Kong diaspora, which now has a population of near 170,000 across the UK.
Kay Dent is an emerging director with a particular skillset working as a director/dramaturg to develop artist's new writing and highlight an artist's voice. She studied/trained at Cambridge and Rose Bruford and has directed shows in London.
Inés Ruiz is an emerging musical director, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Spain. She trained at Rose Bruford. Her expertise in storytelling with music and the migrant background will help deliver the story more effectively.
