Eric Rushton: Real One (WIP)
'Channel 4 Sean Lock Award' winner Eric Rushton returns with a brand new show. Previously 'Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year', Eric currently has more awards than he does jokes for this show. Once he's finished with the blurb though he'll crack on and it'll be sound.
"Gloriously and unpretentiously daft" - Rolling Stone
"He talks about an array of different topics" - Sam Campbell
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Eric Rushton
Eric Rushton is a stand-up comedian, writer and the winner of Channel 4’s inaugural Sean Lock Comedy Award, which was awarded to him in 2023 for embodying the alternative comedic spirit of the late stand-up. The prize included a script commission and led to Eric writing on 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and The Last Leg (Channel 4), as well as receiving a digital commission from Channel 4.
He is a regular on the UK stand-up comedy circuit, cultivating a strong legion of fans with his intelligent, playful material, and self-deprecating stage persona. Eric has supported comics such as the Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Show nominee Colin Hoult, as well as performed two critically-acclaimed solo stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, earning him recognition as part of the Rolling Stone's 'Top Picks of the Fringe.' Additionally, one of his jokes was chosen for The Guardian's '10 Best Jokes of the Edinburgh Festival’ feature.
Eric has quickly grown a strong fan base across social media posting regular videos, amassing over 5 million views and counting.
In 2020, Eric won the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year award, which has previously been won by the likes of Romesh Ranganathan and Jonny Vegas on their way to stardom. He has also been a finalist for the So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year awards.
